the career of conciousness is where the stress falls

and disturbs the privelege of knowing more rather than less

the vehicle of self transendence.

I find most people will turn away from this whispering

” Maybe it’s just a phase.  Be a forgotten phase.”

I watch him. 23 at a squared table.

acrross from a middle aged woman artifically tamed yellow.

dense bags hang below her eyes and table

exentuating her decay as she diligently munches.

I watch him watch her infatuated with the abstract.

i watch him eat with percision and imagine bandaging his eyes with a black bandana.

In a corner there’s frames.

frames, count the passing frames.

Every commercial is ladden.

it’s become so typical to drill us.

“Toasts to the ritzy condos where money drops like frosted flakes.

toddlers and tiaras.”  drills us.

American justice is proclaiming, ” I’ll arrest innocent people to keep my job.”

And there’s good time music accompaining the violence.

The police are cheering the Patriot Act.

A strange realm of its own terms to be witneessed.

All about money and ego.

Money platters that blonde women hold around coke cans.

Cementing the definition of American as a hot commodity.

I watch him and am scared for masculinity in the 21st century.

hhhhhThe HomeAide Stand is my new home.

1626 21 St is storefront supporting local Chicago artists with the focus on recycled art.

July 31, 2009 3pm – 8pm will be our opening fundraiser for an Illinois Arts Council grant to support a local disabled artist.

Check out her site, she is one amazing lady who  I really admire.

http://www.chicagostudioworks.com/

We will also be featuring many local talented artists.

Come and enjoy a bronze sculpture, fiber art, recycled notebooks, photography, paintings and live sitar.

And of course support a new organization and a wonderful cause.
